Blog Loving

I think my real passion for blogging came after finding Cupcakes and Cashmere a few years back and, in doing so, I finally found someone who really inspired me.

I think the thing with Emily Schuman is, that although she is much skinnier and lives in beautiful California, she has very similar colouring and style likes as me.

When I started writing the blog I wanted a way to share everything that I do.  People often asked for recipes, or 'how to' of DIY bits and bobs, or commented on my outfits.

I wanted a platform where I could share all things cool, but also somewhere to have a quick ramble.

I get a bit depressed sometimes and I find it easy to forget how good I have things, and how much I do get up to.

I've been so inspired over the last couple of years and have found some fantastic blogs that I really relate to.

Check out these fantastic bloggers and see what you think...

Girls....

Are you into Girls?...not in that way?!

Girls the TV series.  It's brill.  It's the first TV series for ages that I've really enjoyed watching.  Admittedly I'm getting on this a bit late in the day, as I think they are actually already on series 4, but that doesn't make it any less brill.

It's so nice to have found a TV show that you can actually relate to.  Don't get me wrong, I loves SATC and The OC, but they sent you off into a fantasy world where real life issues were sensationalised and really, you just wanted to be as cool and skinny as them and have as much money.

They didn't really address every day issues.  Girls does (but not in a depressing way) in a light hearted, extremely well written way.

The characters are realistic and relatable and the relationships and issues are all so real.

How good is Lena Dunham at writing!? Soooo good, is the answer to that!

And as for not being afraid to have a good sex scene and get her boobs out - well good on that woman.

If you aren't already...get on Girls!

Where have you been...

Wow I haven't written for nearly a month! I'm so sorry to those who have been following me.

It has been a month full of things - spending time with the family, weekends away and a super super busy period at work.  Work has really taken off and I am really enjoying it.  I have been up to London a couple of times a week for the last few weeks, which has meant by the time I get home, I've got no energy for blogging.

I can't believe that Autumn is here already, but I am definitely loving the chill in the air.  Bring on the winter wardrobe.  I must say I'm never truly enamored by my summer wardrobe.  I love the colours, layers and cosy materials of Autumn/Winter.

We have a hectic few weeks ahead with a Wedding next weekend and then the 30th Birthday celebrations of my gorgeous sister, but hopefully I will find time to bring the last month to you - a trip to Edinburgh, Jam Making, first harvest from the Green house and some amazing vintage London finds.

The one thing that I never relish enough in the Summer is the length of the days.  With the light fading before 8pm now I do find it hard to get motivated in the evening and do try and aim not to fall asleep before 9pm!!

How do you motivate yourself after the sun goes down so early?
