The Sun is Shining

Necklace - Cos, Sunglasses - Cutler & Gross

What a glorious day! It feels more like summer than spring so noah and I spent the whole afternoon outside.

I pottered in the garden tidying the flowerbeds, made interesting tree decorations (see below), and caught up on some reading on my kindle, while he played with his toys in the pram.

Here's to more gorgeous sunny days like today.

Santa Claus is coming to town

I'm a bit of a fan of Father Christmas decorations. I like the fact that there are so many interpretations of Santa, St Nicholas and papa noël and I love the ways that he can be portrayed.

As mentioned before I really like to stick to traditional decorations and not so much of the cartoon Santa fan really.  I am so in love with our new hanging Santa from cath kidston which we bought this year and my favorite decorations are the Father Christmas on top of our tree (no angels or stars here) and the standing Father Christmas that I bought G last year as one of his Xmas prezzies.

This year on our annual shopping trip for new decs we fell in love with the snowy, rustic Santa with the shovel.  We had to take him home so I decided to give him to G as an early Xmas prezzie this year.

They now sit either side of the tele and are treasured Christmas additions to the family.

Little Christmas Touches

I love the week approaching Christmas as you can really start to embrace the season without looking silly.  This week I wore my festive red and black jumper from Aubin and Wills along with a pretty red ribbon in my hair, added these gorgeous snowflake transfers to my gel nails, and started drinking my coffee each morning from my gorgeous Cath Kidston Mug.

What little things do you change to embrace the Christmas season?

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue

{17th August}
I am very lucky to have a plethora of garden roses growing in the garden.  They aren't long stemmed roses so they needs a small vessel to house them - a jam jar or teapot.  I used my lovely flower print Cath Kidston teapot for the garden roses I picked last week for the living room.  Really cute little arrangement.

My pink roses in the garden tend to have slightly longer stems if you are selective when picking which allows for slightly deeper vases.  I have 2 vintage milk bottles that I bought from a flea market in Brighon.  They are perfect for little flower displays.

I love the idea of using unusual containers for my flowers and I love this idea for my shop bought rose this week - a storage jar placed on a beautiful delicate plate on our coffee table.

I love jars, wine bottles, and tea cups for flower displays.  It would be great to hear what you use as vases.

Happy Saturday
