New Years Resolutions vs New Years To Do List

I'm not sure why we have to always stop things as our New Years Resolutions..stop smoking, stop drinking, eat less chocolate, be less fat...it all seems a bit of a negative start to a New Year.

I am a huge fan of to do lists and this year I want to embrace being positive and I want to have a good list of things that I want to achieve and do this year.  I've given it a couple of weeks to think about it and I don't want to set unrealistic goals but I do want to feel satisfied at the end of the year by what I've achieved.

Here goes...

• Be healthier - do more exercise, eat less and eat better
• Drink more water
• Make a batch of preserve that I've not made before
• Reach 10000 blog page views by the end of the year
• Do something for charity
• Do a course to learn more about the care and beauty of nails
• Do a boot fair to get rid of excess 'junk'
• Be nicer
• Organise my Wedding photos and produce a photobook
• Try not to hesitate in getting things done
• By a house 

What Made Me Smile This Week

The first full week after the Christmas holidays is always a bit of a tricky/depressing one, but we are having a New Years party at our house this weekend to celebrate all the things that 2014 will bring.

Also this week I am so pleased that I have had my first paying customers for my Gel nails and I'm loving my new Roo Amazon Beauty Case (above) that fits everything perfectly.

I'm so bored with the horrid weather am so pleased that we booked our summer holiday flights to Menorca this week.  Perhaps I need a Stunning Travel Wallet to accompany me!

Welcome to 2014

Welcome to 2014!

I hope you all had a splendid New Years eve and celebrated in style. We had a really lovely evening celebrating with friends at their gorgeous new flat.

We were very civilised drinking champagne, playing board games and making our own pizzas.

This is definitely a party idea that I will embrace in the future. Harriet organised pizza bases and a fantastic selection of toppings and we were then all able to create our own tasty pizzas! A definite must for a fun food idea at a party.

There are lots of things that I am hoping for in 2014 and instead of resolutions I am having a to do list.  I am giving myself a week to compile the list and will then share.

2013 Favourites

2013 has seen its fair share of ups and downs but some of my highlights of this year have been:

• Appreciating the love from the women in my life at my HenDo
• Marrying my gorgeous Fiance G on May 4th
• Honeymooning in Florida
• Gaining some fantastic friends, Harriet and Ellis
• Learning how to make jam
• Improving my pie making ability
• Discovering nail transfers
• Learning how to make paper pompoms
• Discovering 'The Simple Things' Magazine
• Learning to love red wine
• Visiting Scotland for the first time
• New borns and being asked to be God Parents
