Perfect Brunch

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I love Marmalade!

Everything about Marmalade makes me feel happy.

I had my first GTT test a few weeks back to check for gestational diabetes and so had to fast for 12 hours.

This normally wouldn't be a problem, but not eating breakfast super sets off my morning sickness, so not eating breakfast until after the test at 10.30, was not so jolly!

What I love about hospital apointments is that it means a trip to Marmelade on the way home.

A ham and egg sandwich with a latte was just what I fancied...thanks Marmalade.

What's the time Mr Wolfe?

When Bean and I took a lovely trip into Brighton last weekend on Sunday we treated outselves to a coffee and biscuit in Mr Wolfe.

Before we left on Sunday morning we had a skim through The Simple Things and read through the article all about Brighton.  Mr Wolfe was featured in the article so we decided to give it a go.

It's just up the back, off Western Road, so nice and handy to get to.  It's very s but so nicely turned out.  The walls are all black chalk board and the menus are all written up on the wall, which is a nice touch.

The coffee was tasty and the gold teapots are fabulous! Wish I'd had tea rather than coffee. The tasty little cloud shortbread biscuit was not only extremely cute, but also very yummy.

Will definitely be visiting Mr Wolfe again!

Weekend Away....

New Favourite Drink - Whiskey and Ginger Ale

I finally made it to Scotland!  Being half Scottish I have always thought that I was missing out on a bit of my heritage have never ventured over the boarder into Scotland.

On the August Bank holiday weekend we had a very impromptu visit up to Edinburgh on the Virgin Atlantic Little Red from Heathrow.

What a fantastic weekend we had.  We just stayed in a Premier Inn out of the centre, as it was the last weekend of the Edinburgh Festival so the City was pretty busy, but it meant that we had to get the bus and explore the outskirts as well as the city centre.

We spent the whole weekend wandering, watching street performances, drinking whiskey, eating tasty food (including scrummy haggis) and doing a bit of shopping.  G experienced Joules for the first time and purchased a brand new Gillet and shirt and I fell in love with a Barbour Jacket.

Amazing weekend away and will most definitely be returning to Edinburgh as soon as possible.
